Elderly Care Companion
![]() |
Elderly care companions are some of the most wonderful and needed people in the communities of the world. They give their lives so that elderly people can live in their own homes. These ladies are live-in companions who usually take care of all of the needs of their elderly companions.
Companions take care of their employees and provide for all of their needs except medical ones. They cook, clean, wash clothes, and other housekeeping duties. The keep their employees clean and neat. They generally do all of the driving and help their employer remember appointments.
Now some elderly care companions do some health care. If the employer is diabetic, of course, the companion will take care of those needs. More than likely she will know how to take blood pressure and check vital signs. These care companions are not nurses and mostly have a rudimentary knowledge of health care. People who need a higher level of health care would need to hire someone with nursing experience not a care companion.
Finding the right elderly care companion is often an arduous process. Because the companion and employer live together, they must enjoy one another’s company. The companion often provides most of her employer’s socialization, which is so important. Studies have proven that senior citizens with friends live happier more productive lives. The companion should certainly help with this.
Sometimes the companion and employer simply do not work out as a team. If this happens, the adult children of the senior citizen can step in to help. They can begin the search for a new companion. Hopefully, the next team will be the perfect fit.
An elderly care companion can be a lifesaver for a senior citizen. This companion can help the parent live in her own home without fear and loneliness.
